‘Cycle Shorts’ was Chesterfield’s first Bicycle Film Festival. It took place in Chesterfield Library. There were stalls and cycling exhibits open in two meeting rooms adjacent to the library cafe. Chesterfield Cycle Campaign, Derbyshire County Library, Polaris Cycle Clothing, Sustrans, Brooks Saddles, Lennon Cycle Shoes, Bolsover Cycling club and Spire Road Club all had exhibits and there where several bikes on display including Brompton, recumbents, a triple and a replica penny farthing.

The films highlighted cycling culture in Amsterdam, Copenhagen and New York. From the UK we had Beauty and the Bike, a project in Darlington to get teenage girls cycling and a bike recycling workshop in Leicester. A CTC film from the 1950’s and a film about Brooks saddles completed the programme.
